OSU Institute of Technology Partnership

give a little. get a lot.

In 2014, the MidContinent chapter of GPA and GPSA, incorporated non-profit trade associations, donated $25,000 toward classroom improvements for OSUIT’s newest program, Pipeline Integrity Technology.  The organization also donated about $45,000 toward scholarships and operating costs to the Natural Gas Compression Program.  These most recent contributions, combined with other scholarship and excellence funds donated to the school since August 2013, bring a cumulative amount of $100,000 donated by the GPA and GPSA MidContinent chapter to OSUIT since last summer.

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education recently recognized 27 collaborative partnerships between institutions and businesses throughout Oklahoma, including OSU Institute of Technology’s long-standing partnership with the MidContinent chapter of the Gas Processors Association. MCGP receives the OSUIT Business Partnership Excellence Award.

The Program

The Natural Gas Compression Program at OSUIT is taught by faculty with solid industry experience and supported by leading natural gas compression producers and suppliers. From engines to electronic controls, the curriculum is focused around hands-on instruction. The classroom and lab learning is then reinforced by internships offered by industry employers. Often, students are sponsored by Gas Processor Association (GPA) member companies who may provide scholarships or other means of educational assistance.

The Pipeline Integrity Technology curriculum at OSU Institute of Technology enables students to develop the skills and knowledge required to be successful in the Pipeline Industry. Major topics include assessing pipeline damage and risk, corrosion control, regulations, safety, design, and integrity management.
